Abstrak

Vibriosis was one of the weakness in grouper culture. Mortality of the grouper culture achieved 80-90 %. The first stage of the mechanism of bacterial pathogen infection was colonization that encompass adherence bacterial pathogen to receptor of the host epithelyocite. The aim of this research was to know characterization receptor protein in the spleen of humpback grouper (Cromilpetes altivelis) that infected Vibrio alginolyticus. Result of the Western blotting showed that receptor protein of the spleen to bind adhesin V. alginolyticus was have molecular weight 34 kDa. The expression of this receptor protein also was showed from confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM) that receptor protein in the humpback grouper spleen that infected V. alginolyticus have higher level than control.
